Joey started with two mates, Harry and Rob, and a shared love of travelling Australia the good way – slow roads, good company, local knowledge and plenty of time for the moments that make a trip memorable.

Why we started JOEY

After years of travelling, meeting people from all over the world and chasing great times along the coast, we saw the same problem again and again: getting around Australia can be complicated, expensive and underwhelming. So we decided to build the kind of bus company we always wished existed.

Joey is our way of helping people explore what we love about this country – the must-see spots, the lesser-known detours and the places that don’t always make it onto a guided tour. We’ve designed Joey to feel less like transport and more like a travel companion, taking the stress out of getting around so you can focus on the experience.

Whether you’re travelling solo or with mates, we’re here to help you see more, meet people and make the most of your time on the road.

We don’t just drive the bus, we’re in it for the ride.

Meet the team

Two mates, one bus and a whole lot of East Coast. Here are the faces behind JOEY.

Harrison Maher, co-founder of JOEY Travel

Harry

Co-founder

Harry spent years backpacking around the world and chasing good times up and down the coast before deciding to build the bus company he always wished existed. These days he looks after the trips, the partners and making sure every JOEY run feels like a road trip with mates.

Rob Crouch, co-founder of JOEY Travel

Rob

Co-founder

Rob is the other half of JOEY. A fellow traveller with a soft spot for the lesser-known detours, he keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes so every trip runs smoothly, from the first pickup to the last sunset. While Harry is based in Noosa and looking after JOEY day to day, Rob is wearing many hats, from being a dad to running multiple businesses down in Victoria to make the JOEY dream come to life
